Ram Chassis Cab Gets Night Edition
The 2027 Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition is bringing a bold new look to one of the hardest-working trucks in the Ram lineup. Designed for commercial customers who want serious capability without sacrificing style, the new Night Edition package adds blacked-out exterior accents and a factory-customized appearance to the Ram 3500, Ram 4500 and Ram 5500 Chassis Cab.
Building on the popular Night Edition theme already available on Ram pickup trucks, the new package gives Ram Chassis Cab owners a way to stand out while maintaining the durability, upfit-friendly design and heavy-duty capability expected from a commercial work truck.
A Darker Look for the Ram Chassis Cab
The biggest change with the new Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition is its appearance. Instead of relying on traditional chrome and bright exterior trim, the package adds a range of dark accents designed to create a more aggressive, modern look.
On Big Horn models, the Night Edition package includes black-painted wheels, black badging, gloss-black grille nostrils, a Sport Performance hood, body-color grille surround, body-color front bumper, fender flares and door handles. Front and rear park sensors are also included.
For the Laramie trim, body-color exterior components and park sensors are already standard, while the Night Edition package adds black-painted wheels, black badging, gloss-black grille billets and nostrils, along with the Sport Performance hood.
The result is a factory-customized appearance that gives the Ram Chassis Cab a stronger road presence without compromising its commercial purpose.
Built for Commercial Customers
The new Night Edition isn’t simply about appearance. The 2027 Ram Chassis Cab continues to focus on the needs of businesses, contractors, fleets and other commercial customers who depend on their trucks for demanding work.
Ram’s chassis cab design is engineered with upfitting in mind. Buyers can choose from four industry-standard frame lengths measured from the cab to the rear axle: CA 60, CA 84, CA 108 and CA 120. The frame rails use a 34-inch spacing, following industry guidelines.
The frames are built with up to 97% high-strength steel and feature eight separate cross members. At the rear, a C-channel design provides a flat mounting surface, while the absence of components above the frame rails helps make upfit and accessory installation easier and more cost-effective. Pre-drilled holes throughout the frame also help with routing upfit lines and mounting equipment.
For businesses that need a customized work truck, these features make the Ram Chassis Cab a particularly versatile platform.
Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Capability
The Night Edition package is available across the Ram 3500 Chassis Cab, Ram 4500 Chassis Cab and Ram 5500 Chassis Cab, in both Regular Cab and Crew Cab configurations. That means customers can combine the darker Night Edition styling with the level of capability required for a wide range of commercial applications.
The Ram 3500 Chassis Cab with the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel can tow up to 25,590 pounds and carry up to 6,830 pounds of payload, with a maximum gross combined weight rating of 33,000 pounds. With the 6.4-liter HEMI V8, the Ram 3500 offers up to 15,980 pounds of towing capacity and up to 7,710 pounds of payload.
Moving up to the Ram 4500 Chassis Cab, the Cummins diesel delivers up to 29,400 pounds of maximum towing capacity and up to 8,420 pounds of payload, while the HEMI V8 model can tow up to 21,250 pounds and carry up to 9,400 pounds.
At the top of the lineup, the Ram 5500 Chassis Cab with the Cummins Turbo Diesel can tow up to 34,540 pounds and handle up to 11,490 pounds of payload. The HEMI V8 version offers up to 21,230 pounds of towing capacity and up to 12,370 pounds of payload.
Two Heavy-Duty Powertrain Choices
The 2027 Ram Chassis Cab lineup continues to offer two powertrain options for customers with different commercial requirements. The 6.4-liter HEMI V8 produces 375 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque and is paired with a TorqueFlite HD eight-speed automatic transmission.
For customers looking for diesel power, the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I-6 produces 360 horsepower and 800 lb.-ft. of torque. It also works with a TorqueFlite HD eight-speed automatic transmission and electronic column shifter.
These powertrain choices give commercial buyers flexibility when configuring a heavy-duty Ram truck for towing, hauling and specialized upfit applications.
Advanced Technology for the Job
While the Night Edition focuses heavily on exterior styling, the 2027 Ram Chassis Cab also brings an extensive collection of available safety and driver-assistance technology.
Ram says the Chassis Cab is the only truck in its segment to offer available features including adaptive cruise control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking and Automatic Emergency Braking with trailer brakes across all trim levels.
The available ParkSense Park Assist system provides visual and audible driver alerts, while the class-exclusive 270-degree camera system with trailer reverse guidance is designed to improve visibility around the truck and trailer.
Another useful feature for commercial operators is the available cargo-view camera, which can help owners monitor an upfit or payload at the rear of the truck. It can also assist with connecting fifth-wheel and gooseneck hitches.
The truck can additionally monitor tire pressure on up to six truck tires and as many as 12 trailer tires, giving commercial operators another tool for monitoring a truck and trailer combination.
How Much Does the Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition Cost?
The 2027 Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition carries an MSRP of $2,195 on Big Horn models equipped with the Level 1 or Level 2 Equipment Group. On Laramie models, the Night Edition package has an MSRP of $1,695.
The package will be available on Ram 3500, Ram 4500 and Ram 5500 Chassis Cab models, including Regular Cab and Crew Cab configurations.

The Ram Chassis Cab Gets a New Attitude
The new Ram Chassis Cab Night Edition gives commercial truck buyers another way to personalize a serious work vehicle straight from the factory. Its combination of blacked-out styling, heavy-duty capability and upfit-friendly engineering makes it an appealing choice for businesses that want their fleet vehicles to look as professional and distinctive as they perform.
Whether configured as a Ram 3500, Ram 4500 or Ram 5500 Chassis Cab, the Night Edition adds visual impact to a truck designed around demanding commercial work. With powerful HEMI V8 and Cummins Turbo Diesel options, substantial towing and payload ratings, advanced technology and a highly adaptable chassis, the 2027 Ram Chassis Cab continues to put capability first — now with a darker side.
